Well, the first annual ‘Crack Open Your Summer’ beer tasting event held by the Litchfield MN Eagles Auxiliary was held on May 7th and was deemed a big success! Thanks to everyone who came out and supported the event. The event was sponsored by Beer Guys TV, The Darwin Liquor Store and Peaceful Thymes of Atwater MN.
With over 25 different beverages to sample, everyone got to taste a wide variety of beers the also to pair them up with some of the delicious food items that were available as part of the ticket. People were able to mill around and chat with brewery reps and compare tastes with other beer enthusiasts etc. Brady Brau of Brau Brothers Brewing was on hand to sample out some of their beers and talk with the folks in attendance about their beer what goes on at Brau Brothers etc. It seemed as though the craft beers from Brau were a big hit for the evening.
People were amazed at the variety of beers at a first time event as well as the food. One beer conniseur said ‘I’ve been to a lot of beer tastings and this was as good as any, and the food that is included is terrific!’ Many people didn’t know what to expect but already said that they would be there next year for sure along with friends. There was a great variety of silent auction items too, most didn’t realize there would be that many to choose from. 100% of the proceeds went to charities. Frank from ManCave also had a booth at the event and was pleased with the turnout.
The top beers on the night appeared to be Alaskan Amber Ale from Alaskan Brewing, Walleye Chop from Beer for Wildlife, Moos Joos and Bancreadie, from Brau Brothers, Honey Moon from Blue Moon along with Schells Zommerfest. Participants were asked to vote for their favorites and the top three would receive a Random Brew Review from Beer Guys TV. As soon as we get the results, we will post them right here.
Thanks to Elsie, Katie, Anna and everyone who pitched in to make this event a success. We will have the video of the event posted here in the near future. With that, thanks for your support and …beers to ya!
