Here’s a quick review from the world famous producer of “Beer Guys TV”. Just so you all know, among Shane’s many talents is the fact that he is also a  fine judge of beer. So, let’s see what he thinks of a recent stout he had the pleasure of experiencing.  (The Snob)

Founders Breakfast Stout

Founders Brewing Company, Grand Rapids, MI Breakfast Stout This oatmeal stout is brewed with double chocolate and coffee! I’m a coffee lover. A strong coffee lover. And I like Hershey’s Special Dark chocolate. So when I read that Founders is brewed with bitter chocolate and coffee, I thought ‘Man, this is a brew for me’! The beer is definitely dark, almost syrupy. It is light on carbonation and very smooth. You can smell bitterness and taste the chocolate and coffee, but not the oatmeal so much. It’s a full-bodied beer with a lingering bitter chocolate aftertaste. I enjoyed it, but I couldn’t drink two at one sitting. It is kind of heavy and a bit filling. If you can get past the baby slurping his oatmeal spoon on the bottle, it’s definitely worth a try. Like I said, I love dark, unsweetened coffee and bitter-sweet chocolate, so I do like this beer. It could be enjoyed with a Maduro cigar after dinner, but not more than one, maybe two.

I give it 4 steins.
