Well, with the holidays fast approaching, many business’ are starting to market their goods and services to the masses and give people some ideas for entertaining etc.
The Hutchinson MN Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors hosted an event this past Thursday night called the Holiday Sampler and were kind enough to invite Beer Guys TV. So, of course we took them up on the offer and perused the samplings (nice way of saying we pigged out for free). I (The Beer Slob) arranged to attend but the Snob was unable to make it due to a work situation. I decided to ask Jerry Cook, one of our producers, if he would be so kind as to join me and he did. It was good to get out and meet some local business people and sample some of their offerings.
Jerry and I stopped by the Locher Bros Distributing booth right away to say hi to Neil and Brian, whom we have
worked with at other events. They were sampling several beers including the Leinenkugel Fireside Nut Brown Ale. Jerry and I agreed that it was a very tasty choice and would be a good one for the holiday season. We also tried the special offering from Leinenkugel called Big Eddy, a Russian Imperial Stout. Wow, was that something… very tasty and a good one to go with a chocolate dessert or something of that nature. Jerry and I both liked it, in small quantities of course. We will review that one further on one of our Rapid Brew Reviews later on.
We also met some of the folks from other business’ and I even won some golf balls!
Jerry and I stopped to try a couple of beer samples from the Liquor Hutch and the Budweiser girls, I tried the Buffalo Sweat and Turbo dog while Jerry tried the Copper Hook and Wisconsin Amber. I seem to be crossing the border into Snob territory lately as I kind of liked both of my selections, they were darker beers with a little edge to them but not overpowering. Turbo Dog is made by Abita Brewing in Louisianna and I have tried a couple of their beers before (click on Random Reviews for those) and liked them so I thought I might try this one.
We also got a chance to visit with Catherine Libor Huse from the Hair Lounge and Spa in Hutchinson MN. She was a lot of fun and a big fan of Beer
Guys TV so you know she is a classy lady! Be watching for more from Cathy and company… never know where she may turn up. Sounds like she has lots going on and lots of spa services to offer the area… maybe the Beer Guys (and crew) can get some massage work after a tough day of filming! lol
All in all, it was fun to meet some local people and sample some new items. Seemed a little weird to hear Christmas music playing at an event already but it is time to think ahead isn’t it?! We would like to thank the Hutchinson Chamber of Commerce for having us and we look forward to doing more fun events like this around the area.
Until next time… beers to ya! The Beer Slob
