Leinenkugel’s Brewery, Chippewa Falls, WI
Recently we got a chance to enjoy a Leinie’s Summer Shandy. This beer has a very citrusy flavor, almost grapefruitish, but more lemony. It is a cloudy beer that fills you up as much as it quenches your thirst on a hot summer day. It’s a beer enjoyed after a good brisk lawn mowing or trimming of the hedges as much as after a day of catching pumpkinseed sunnys and big black crappies. In fact, have one while you’re filleting the fish you caught, one while you’re frying them in the pan and one while you savor them on your tongue with a little lemon pepper and a slice of fresh baked bread. The beer must be cold, but not freezing, and served with a slice of lemon to get the full effect.
