Our esteemed producer, Shane Zeppelin has tried another interesting beer and has submitted the following review:
Wells Banana Bread Beer
Brewer: Wells and Young’s Brewing Company
Origin: Bedford, U.K.
I purchased a bottle of Wells Banana Bread Beer, poured a glass and I have to tell you that I was pleasantly surprised. The first thing I noticed was a strong hint of banana (duh), but it was a very pleasant aroma. Tasting the beer was even more so; it had a nice malty flavor with very little after taste and a clean finish. You certainly can taste the banana, but it’s not any sweeter than an oatmeal stout. The beer has a lighter color with a tinge of amber, certainly reminiscent of a nice ripe banana. While I couldn’t drink more than one of these beers in a sitting, it makes a great desert beer and reminds me of Bananas Foster. This beer is light on the tongue and very flavorful without being overly sweet.
